Records and LicensingUnder the supervision of a Records Manager, the unit provides operational support 24-hour, 7-day per week to law enforcement and detention agencies and officers at the local, state, and nation-wide level. Services provided include maintaining the central repository for local criminal records, along with the entry, update, and research of warrant or wanted persons, stolen, recovered, lost, and found property or vehicles, missing or abducted people. Team members collaborate with officers and law enforcement partners to prepare records for DA review or court adjudication.

The unit offers a variety of services to citizens at our Ventura and Thousand Oaks locations. These sites are open traditional business hours; Monday – Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Services include responding to requests for a variety of law enforcement records, subpoenas, or petitions for case sealings, vehicle release, issuing County business and event permits or licenses, and registration services.
